The Educational Role of the Václav Havel Library

The thesis deals with the educational role of the Václav Havel Library, i.e. its role in the field of adult education. There are several objectives of the thesis. In addition to introducing the library, analysing and characterising the cultural and civic impact of this institution on adult individuals who have attended at least five educational events in a one-year period, it is also to identify its impact on the development of democratic culture. The thesis also characterises the civic education of adults and their civic competences and describes the role of the Václav Havel Library within the framework of cultural andragogy, a field that is both approached and described in its historical context and through contemporary means. The aim of cultural andragogy is to support adults in acquiring cultural values and meeting the needs of self- realisation. Other cultural institutions involved in civic and leisure education of adults have an essential place in this thesis. The above objectives are linked in the research part and analysed through interviews and open coding method to show the effect of the activities of the Václav Havel Library on the visitors. Reading literacy of primary school children : educational programmes influence

The thesis on the theme "Reading literacy of primary school children: educational programmes influence" is focused on reading literacy, its development and influence of the educational programmes. First chapter is devoted to theoretical analysis of reading literacy. Next chapter discusses about resources and options of reading literacy development and also about the role of parents, libraries and schools in this process. Third chapter deals with the topic of alternative education and methods of teaching reading. Fourth chapter describes the research of the educational programmes influence on reading literacy. Final chapter is focused on cooperation of library and schools in the town of Kladno, analyzes the shortcomings and brings in the possibilities of development.
Czech for Foreigners in the Preschool Education Institutions

v anglickém jazyce The present M.A. thesis deals with teaching the Czech for foreigners in the preschool education institution. The work with the preschool children is connected with lots of specifics and thus it requires teacherʼs special attitude towards their very young learners. Children- foreigners often come from families, where nobody speaks Czech and their vocabulary is very restricted. Therefore, their inclusion into the Czech educational environment is not easy. In the theoretical part, at first we will focus on analysis of curriculum documents for preschool education, particularly with regard to children-foreigners. Afterwards, we will pay oneʼs attention to possibilities of support of integration of children-foreigners during education in Czech preschool institutions. After that, we will outline the aspects accompanying foreigners' integration into teaching and theoretical ways for child-foreigners integration process. At the end of the theoretical part, we characterize group and individual courses. Two case studies are subject of the empirical part and they contain the complex analysis of situation of children-foreigners in selected preschool institutions.

Benešovsko Region in the Second Grade of Primary School Education

The diploma thesis deals with the position of teaching the local region in the educational programmes. On the basis of empirical research, it summarises the findings of teaching the local region in primary schools and the lower grade of grammar school in the Benešovsko region. Based on the results of worksheet research, it compares the pupils? knowledge about Benešovsko region and then it tries to find the connection between the level of the pupils? knowledge and the ways of teaching this topic. The second part of the thesis is focused on the actual suggestion of teaching the local region concept. It contains a complete teaching material in the form of working textbook, suggestion of school geographical project, school excursion and methodological manual including time devotion and curriculum content, chosen teaching forms and methods and integral approach to education. The conception is based on the actual Framework Education Programme for Primary Education.
Contemporary Trends in Education of Managers

This thesis charts the developments that have occurred in the field of managerial education specifically from the perspective of the current trends in educational programmes both in the Czech Republic as well as abroad. The theoretical section of the thesis consists of a pilot study aimed at the demand for educational and developmental programmes amongst a selected research sample of managers and also at an analysis of the supply offered by a sample of educational organisations located in the City of Prague. Based on the information that was gathered, certain conclusions were drawn and recommendations made for modifying the study programmes offered by the Faculty of Management of the University of Economics.
